Athletics success for IoM competitors
There were plenty of medals for the Isle of Man's Special Olympians on the opening day of the Gibraltar National Games yesterday.
After the opening ceremony at the Victoria Stadium, the Manx athletes were straight into action, after each one had been entered into their correct division for 100m and 200m.
Matthew Callin won gold in both of his events, while Tomas Dawes won silver in the 100m and gold in the 200m.
Lawrence Dyer got silvers in both his events, while Duncan Watterson claimed bronze in his.
The golfers are in action at San Roque Golf Club in Spain today, with Peter Taylor and Sean Roberts representing the Island.
