Nearly 900 entered for Parish Walk

Record level of women so far

895 have entered the Manx Telecom Parish Walk ahead of last night's discounted entry fee deadline at midnight.

The event statisticians have been at work on the website - the entries to date include 510 women, that's a record 57% of the total.

44 females under 21 have already entered compared to 31 by the final deadline last year.

Until 20 years ago less than 300 walkers took part in the annual 85 mile walk around the 17 Manx parishes.
