Suntera Global Ballasalla Bravo 30 v Marbree Misffits A 14

POTM Ashley Hall for Suntera Global Ballasalla Bravo

The match started off tentatively from both teams with the first quarter ending just 6-4 to Ballasalla. However, Balla quickly found their rhythm in attack with some excellent feeds into Kate Tebay (GS) and Mairi Harrison (GA) and they stretched their lead to 16-6 by the end of the second half.

The Missfits defenders didn't make it easy, with Hollie Quayle (GD) and Lisa Quilliam (GK) picking up some great turnovers. But ultimately the pressure applied in the Missfits attacking circle by the formidable Balla defence of POTM Ashley Hall (GD), Clare Barks (GK/WD) and Zoe Kirkham (GK) proved too much for Missfits, who, despite great efforts, just lost out on half points with the final score ending 30-14.

POTM Holly Charmer for Castletown Celts

The start of the match between Route 1 and Castletown Celts, saw the Celts take to the court with great determination. Great teamwork shone through, with interceptions from their defence which were then capitalised,on as it came down to the shooting duo of GS, Louise Skelly and GA, Sarah Cutts. Unfortunately for Route 1, despite their defensive efforts from Rachel Caine and Emily Christian, it saw Castletown take the first quarter 14-1.

The second quarter saw changes for Castletown, as the first of two new additions to the team took to the court. Macy Hillier’s, effortless play proving to be a great advantage for the Celts side in the shooting circle.  Route 1 however, were also getting into their stride which saw the quarter more evenly matched as it saw Route 1’s attack feeding their circle, with their shooting being led by their Captain and GS, Sarah Morgan. This saw the quarter ending 20-6.

In the second half, Celts defence worked tirelessly with Holly Renshaw, Holly Charmer and their second new addition Phoebe Roosen proving to have the upper hand. This continuous fighting for every ball, resulted in turnovers which were then being brought back down court, led by Castletown’s C, Rebecca O’Neill, once again back into their shooting circle.

Some great Netball was played from both teams, however, Celts saw their lead extended and the match ended 38-16 with POTM going once again, to a well-deserved Holly Charmer.
