New documentary shows Cavendish's history-making Tour de France

Astana Qazaqstan's 'Project 35' charts 'Manx Missile's' journey to 2024 success

The team of Sir Mark Cavendish has released a new documentary showing the rider and squads journey to the 'Manx Missile' making Tour de France history this year.

'Project 35' from Astana Qazaqstan shows the team's journey though this year's event and its efforts to help Cavendish claim an unprecedented 35th tour stage victory.

The near 38-minute feature includes behind-the-scenes footage of Astana Qazaqstan's work throughout the tour and features interviews with Sir Mark himself as well as his wife Peta.

Others in the setup also provide key insight including Astana Qazaqstan's Sports Director, Mark Renshaw along with fellow riders Michael Mørkøv, Cees Bol and Davide Bellerini.

Having received his knighthood at Windsor Castle earlier this month, the 39-year-old has already reaffirmed he will not compete in the Tour de France again.

He remains contracted to Astana until the end of the year - his final race could be at the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium being held from 9-10 November.

Meanwhile, Project 35 is now available to view on Astana Qazaqstan's YouTube channel - a link to the documentary is available HERE.
