It'll be the first time it's taken place on the Island
The Isle of Man will host the British Powerlifting Home Nations Championships for the first time next year.
The annual event sees competitors from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man face off in competitions across numerous divisions.
It will come just three years after the Island squad made its debut in the tournament in 2023.
Manx Powerlifting coach and Great Britain lifter, Lisa Grant hopes holding an event of this calibre can open up more opportunities to local athletes going forward:
The Isle of Man team has competed in each Home Nations over the last three years.
At this year's meeting in Birmingham earlier this month, Manx Powerlifting managed its best ever overall total with 780.3 points, surpassing the previous best of 679.18 points in 2024.
The 2026 Home Nations Championships on the Isle of Man is currently scheduled to take place at the Comis Hotel on Sunday, 22 November next year.
