Praise for Cav from around the World

The achievements of Manx Missile Mark Cavendish at the Tour de France are being acknowledged around the world.

He won six stages at this year's edition and now has ten wins in the last two years - more than any other British rider in history.

ABC in Australia says:-

"Six stage wins, no Green Jersey, no dramas. Mark Cavendish may have missed out on the Maillot Vert but there's no question as to who was king of the sprints at this year's Tour de France.
He made it through the hellish final week and as the majority of the field went along at a pedestrian pace and larked about, the Brit was still very much in race mode."

CNN in the USA:-

"Mark Cavendish is the most gifted, instinctive, explosive, natural sprinter since Mario Cipollini. Like Super Mario, he's the beneficiary of the best lead out train in the business. These sprint finishes are usually won by a half-wheel. On Sunday on the Champs Elysees, Cavendish capped his astounding performance -- he finished this Tour with six stage wins -- by routing the fastest in the world by 30 meters. It just shouldn't happen."
