Ellesmere Port fall to defeat at the Mooragh
Two tries from Dan Bonwick helped Ramsey to a 25-8 win when they met second place Ellesmere Port at the Mooragh.
Rhys Mackie kicked the Oilers into an early lead but Ramsey hit back with Bonwick’s first and a penalty from Scott Kneale to lead 8-3 at the break.
In the second half an Ethan Benjamin try pushed Ramsey further ahead but Mackie quickly went in at the other end to claw Ellesmere Port back into the game.
Bonwick’s second midway through the second half restored the Ramsey lead and two minutes later Henry Swithinbank applied the finish to secure the win and give Ramsey a bonus point and extend their lead in Lancs/Cheshire Division Three to six points.
