FC Isle of Man hoping to end Brookburn Road curse

Having fallen to a narrow defeat in their opening clash of 2026 eleven days ago, FC Isle of Man face what looks to be a tough task at West Didsbury & Chorlton in the NWCFL Premier Division tonight (21 January).

Starting the day 21st in the table and eleven points clear of the drop zone, 'The Ravens' will be hosted this evening by an opponent currently sitting inside the promotion play-off places.

Along with looking to upset the odds, FC Isle of Man will be hoping to end an unpleasant record which has seen them lose in all four visits to The Step Places Stadium since their inaugural season in 2021/22.

West Didsbury & Chorlton, meanwhile, could move up one place and into fourth with a win on home soil tonight.

Both sides have already met once this season, the reverse league tie at The Bowl on 15 November, 2025 in which a clinical West Didsbury & Chorlton ran out 3-1 winners.

More recently, FC Isle of Man both ended 2025 and started the new year with home defeats to Stockport Town and Burscough, failing to score on both occasions.

Elsewhere, Paul Marshall's West Didsbury & Chorlton has seen it's more recent schedule across all competitions significantly disrupted due to poor weather conditions with three of their last five matches called off.

Whilst the side has impressed recently in cup competitions, this evening's hosts will be hoping for an uplift in recent results in the league which has seen them lose three of their last four in the NWCFL Premier Division.

West Didsbury & Chorlton vs FC Isle of Man will kick-off tonight at The Step Places Stadium at 7.45pm.
