Champion secures double victory at Imola
Jonathan Rea equalled Carl Fogarty's World Superbike race victories record at the weekend, thanks to a double at the latest round of the championship.
He won both races at Imola in Italy, which were his 58th and 59th at this level.
It was the Castletown resident's 17th World Superbikes double, which is a record.
The triple world champion now has a 47-point lead over Chaz Davies in the standings.
Rea can break Fogarty's record at his home round at Donington in a fortnight.
