Record stand by Stokoe and McAuley

Pair record highest partnership in Manx cricket history

Max Stokoe and Adam McAuley have blasted their way into the record books.

The Cronkbourne batsmen had an unbroken stand of 362 to take their side to 389 for 1 in Saturday’s Premiership game against Ramsey.

The previous highest partnership was 266 made by Daniel Heginbotham and Dave Griffiths for Castletown in the 2008 T20 match against Vagabonds.

Max smashed 188, including 16 fours and 11 sixes in his innings, while Adam hit 160 with 17 fours and 4 sixes.

Ramsey were then bowled out for 119, mainly thanks for Nick Keiswetter taking 4 for 30.

Premiership leaders Peel and St John’s kept their 13-point lead at the top of the table with a comfortable eight-wicket win at home to Valkyres.

Chris Langford starred for the Douglas side by making an unbeaten 47 out of the team’s final total of 80.

Akkie van den Berg took four wickets and Dan Hawke claimed three.

The Saints then knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets.

Danny Kniveton struck 86 to help Crosby to 233 for 6 against Castletown.

The Town then battled back with Christian Steriopulos cracking 61 and Garreth Roome 41.

However, in an exciting finish they fell just short of the Marown total, ending on 226 for 8 to see Crosby win by 7 runs.
