Records continue to tumble for Rea

Ten wins in a row for WSBK champ

Jonathan Rea continues to break records in World Superbikes this season.

He's now secured an unprecedented ten consecutive victories, after doing the double yet again at the weekend, winning both races at the new El Villicum circuit in Argentina.

That beats the previous mark of nine straight wins, set by Neil Hodgson and Colin Edwards.

The 31-year-old Northern Irishman had doubted if he was even going to be able to finish yesterday's race, having spent much of the previous night up ill with food poisoning.

Rea has already wrapped up this year's title, his fourth in a row, and can break the record of 17 wins in a World Superbike season if he does the double at the last round in Qatar later this month.

Rea moved back to Northern Ireland with his family in the summer, having lived in Castletown for a number of years.
