Royal go gr-eight guns at Tromode

Onchan up to third

Douglas Royal are top of JCK Division Two after a super showing at Tromode on Saturday.

They triumphed 8-2 at Gymns to become the new leaders.

All this after the sides shared four goals in the first half.

Indeed, Gymns led 2-0 inside the first 14 minutes through Jordan Cooper and Richard Winn before Royal hauled themselves level by the break.

A Paul Whitley hat-trick and a John Quirk double were added to by goals from Gavin Gawne, Chris Anderson and an own goal as in-form Royal proved too strong.

Lethal marksman Andy Glover netted five as promotion favourites Braddan won 9-0 at Governor’s Athletic.

Lee Currer Mark O’Neill, Joe Andrews and Stuart Pacey added the others.

The unsung heroes of the division, Onchan, ran out 2-0 winners over Malew to move up to third.

The hard fought contest was won, courtesy of Kraig Marsh, against his former club, and a Jack Powell penalty.

Ramsey Youth Centre were 4-1 home winners over strugglers Michael, whose consolation was scored by Paul Corlett.
