Rugby: Bevan Rodd books place on England tour

Former Island player on next month's tour of Americas

Former Isle of Man rugby union player Bevan Rodd has booked his place on England's latest tour next month.

Rodd is one of 36 players confirmed to be part of Steve Borthwick's national side heading out on a tour of Argentina and the USA from 5-19 July.

Furthermore, the former Buchan School student is one of six Sale Sharks players in the travelling team.

Also included in the forwards selections with Rodd is teammate Ben Curry whilst in the backs lineup are fellow Sharks athletes Joe Carpenter, George Ford and Tom Roebuck.

Meanwhile, Ford has also been named co-captain of the team alongside Jamie George of Saracens.

England's campaign will start with a two-test series against Argentina with the first fixture on Saturday, 5 July at Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi in La Plata.

The second meeting of the two nations will be a week later on Saturday, 12 July at Estadio San Juan Del Bicentenario in San Juan Province.

The tour then concludes with a clash against the USA at Audi Field in Washington D.C. on Saturday, 19 July.
