Still no joy for Vagabonds and Ramsey in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire

Report by Dave Christian:

Douglas' sterling start to the season continued with a 30-21 win against close rivals Northwich in Regional 2 North West.

They also recorded maximum points and perhaps crucially, denied Northwich any kind of bonus point.

The Martin brothers Craig and Kyle both crossed for Douglas with other tries coming from Josh Duncan, Matty Wood and Nathan Robson.

Wood also added a penalty and a conversion.

Still no joy for Vagabonds and Ramsey

Both Manx sides in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire recorded home defeats.

Vagabonds lost narrowly 33-27 to Orrell while Ramsey went down 42-24 to Ormskirk at The Mooragh.

Skipper Dan Bonwick bagged two for 'Vagas' with supporting tries from Dave Keenan, Theo Head and Nathan Wyllie and Cam Findlay converted one.

The result gives Vagabonds a bonus point for four or more tries and a second bonus point for finishing within seven.

Ramsey shipped a lot of early points and trailed 30-5 at half time with a Harvey Callister try being their only consolation.

Things got better after the break with tries from Kyle Shnier and Brayden Roche and a Tom Moffatt conversion.

Ormskirk however added another two and it was a very late try from Adam Dempsey, also converted by Moffatt, which clinched them a try bonus point.

Vagabonds Ladies win big at Crewe & Nantwich

Vagabonds Ladies won 51-10 away at Crewe & Nantwich in their second outing of the season in Womens NC 2 North (South).

Vagabonds flyer Freya Crowe ran in four, there was a brace for Meg Kerwin and tries from Leona McGovern, Becky Dunne and Roseena McNair, plus three conversions from skipper Sammie Macdonald.

Nomads beat the Lymm Reapers

In a friendly fixture 'Nomads' beat Lymm Reapers 50-31 at Lymm.

George Callister bagged a hat-trick for Nomads, Tony Quinn ran in two and there were also tries from Ewan Chapman, Tom Collister and Mark Young who also kicked three conversions with Zac Hand adding two.
