Both seeking positive beginnings to 2026 in Counties 3 ADM Lancs/Cheshire

Both Vagabonds and Ramsey will be hoping to start the new year with positive performances as they provide the opening Manx rugby action of 2026.

The two Island sides are on the road in Counties 3 ADM Lancashire/Cheshire with both clubs continuing to prop up the table.

For 'Vagas', it could be a key opportunity to get points on the board as they travel to Colne & Nelson who sit just above the Islanders in the table.

Elsewhere, Ramsey are still searching for their first win of the latest campaign and have a tricky task on paper away at an Orrell side which is still in with an outside chance of pushing for the league title.

After ten games, Vagabonds reside 13th in the division standings and will begin the weekend five points behind their hosts, Colne & Nelson who still have plenty of points to play for having only completed eight league fixtures to date.

Whilst Vagabonds do have just one victory so far - a home triumph over Dukinfield in November 2025 - they have also managed to accrue two try bonus points and one losing bonus point.

Below them and at the bottom of the standings right now are Ramsey who have only one point on the board at this stage, that coming in a rare goalless draw against Vagabonds at Mooragh Park on 29 November, 2025.

They themselves, however, have picked up extras elsewhere with three try bonus points.

If Ramsey were to massively upset the odds at Orrell and take maximum points, they would move to within one point of their Manx rivals.
