Seventh heaven for St. George's

Historic Railway Cup victory

St. George's have made history at The Bowl this afternoon.

They lifted the Railway Cup for a record-breaking seventh year in a row with a 5-2 victory over a battling St. Mary's.

Darren Hudgeon twice gave St. Mary's the lead but goals from Frank Jones (who has scored in all seven finals) and youngster Adam Long saw the sides go in level at half-time.

Ciaran McNulty put Geordies ahead for the first time and the game changed when St. Mary's midfielder Brian Crellin was sent-off.

Another effort from McNulty and a goal from man-of-the-match Jack McVey saw St. George's wrap up another major piece of silverware.

Afterwards Manager Chris Bass was delighted with his history-makers:-
