
Tributes have been paid to a sidecar driver and his passenger who died during the first lap of the TT practice session last night (Tuesday).
Sixty-seven-year-old Bill Currie from Ellesmere Port and his 59-year-old passenger Kevin Morgan from Shrewsbury were killed in a crash at Ballacrye, just past Ballaugh.
Mr Currie was an experienced racer who first competed at the TT in 1969 when he finished third. He finished 8th in last year's Sidecar TT with his fastest ever average race speed.
Sidecar veteran Roy Hanks told Manx Radio TT's Charlie Williams the pair were very popular in the paddock:
