
St George's edged an eight-goal thriller 5-3 against Rushen at Peel yesterday to lift the Eric Fletcher Charity Shield.
Fans were treated to a feast of attacking football, with both sides scoring twice in the first eighteen minutes.
Rushen went ahead twice in that early period, through Aaron Hawley and Tom Craine, but Geordies replied both times, via Sam Caine and Neil Brogan.
Returning striker Ciaran McNulty then gave the Douglas side the lead just before half-time.
Adam Cregeen levelled the game for the league champions on 77 minutes, but a debut goal from Island international Frank Jones and a late strike from Conor Doyle sealed victory for St George's.
