St George’s have clinched Manx football’s Grand Slam in the most dramatic of climaxes to the season.
Two goals in injury time sealed a 3-2 success over Peel in the final of the BCS Vinyl Hospital Cup to spark wild celebrations at the Bowl and become only the fifth club in the history of the Manx game to complete a clean-sweep of all the major trophies.
The Geordies looked on course to secure victory thanks to Callum Morrissey’s first half goal.
However, a Chris Caine header and a free-kick from Lee Gale fired the westerners into a 2-1 lead.
They hung on until Johnny Myers equalised in the 90th minute and, with extra time looming, Morrissey headed home a last-gasp 96th minute winner to send St George’s into dreamland
