Tangerines edge closer to safety

Super Sean bags second hat-trick of the week

Back-to-back victories have given Ayre United a great chance of survival in the Canada Life Premier League.

A Sean Kelly hat-trick (his second in four days) and a double from Danny Allison fired the Tangerines to a 5-2 home win over fellow strugglers Union Mills on Saturday.

Hot on the heels of their midweek victory at Ramsey Youth Centre, it moves Ayre three points clear of the Millers and further away from the drop zone.

It was the same score at the Bowl as St John’s continued their fine form by defeating St Mary’s.

Despite goals for Steven Glover and talented teenager Josh Molyneux, St John’s had too much know how.

Harry Rothwell, Andrew Chadwick Rhys Oates, Liam Harrison and Ingham were on target as St John’s move up to fifth.

In JCK Division Two, Barry English was the man of the day.

He scored four as in-form Pulrose won 5-1 at Malew.

Dale Walker grabbed the other - all this after Malew had led 1-0 at the break with a Sam Tipper goal.

Foxdale were made to battle before seeing off Governors Athletic 2-1.

The scorers for the visitors was regular marksmen Daniel Thirwell.
