Manx competitor battles well against Belgian over three sets
Isle of Man professional tennis player Billy Harris has lost out in the second round of qualifiers for the Australian Open after a three-set defeat to David Goffin (6-3,3-6,2-6).
Harris faced the 33-year-old Belgian on court seven last night (10 January) with Goffin currently ranked 107th in the men's singles standings.
In a contest lasting just shy of two hours, Harris made a strong start taking the first set.
Goffin then rallied back to take the second and level the tie before a commanding win in the third and final set to progress.
Harris had booked his place in the second qualifying phase after previously beating Bulgaria's Dimitar Kuzmanov in three sets earlier this week.
