Former Island player heading to Australia this week

Former Isle of Man professional tennis player, Billy Harris has been called up to represent Great Britain at the 2026 United Cup.

The previous Albany and Castletown competitor is stepping in to replace British men's number one, Jack Draper for the tournament taking place in Australia from 2-11 January.

The first test for Harris and GB will be their opening group stage match against Japan on Saturday, 3 January with Harris to face Shintaro Mochizuki in Perth.

More broadly, Harris is one of several late changes to the Great Britain lineup for the event with Neal Skupski and Katie Swan coming in for Lloyd Glasspool and Mimi Xu who've both also dropped out.

British women's number one, Emma Raducanu and Olivia Nicholls are also part of the national squad.

Great Britain have been drawn in Group E with Japan and Greece - all of their group matches will take place in the city of Perth.

A total of 18 nations are involved in this year's event taking place across Perth and Sydney, with the group stage running from this Friday (2 January) until Wednesday, 7 January, followed by the knockout phase.
