Former Island player will face Liam Draxl in next phase
Isle of Man tennis player, Billy Harris has taken victory in the opening round of this year's Jingshan Open in China.
In the opening phase of the men's singles tournament, Harris beat qualifier Petr Bar Biryukov in straight sets (7-6, 7-6) in the early hours of this morning (24 September).
As a result, the former Albany and Castletown player will now face Canadian eighth seed, Liam Draxl in the second round in the early hours of Friday (26 September).
So far this month, Harris - currently 131st in the ATP World Rankings - claimed his first ATP Challenger title by winning the Cassis Open Provence in France.
He also reached the semi-final stage of the Guangzhou Huangpu International Tennis Open in China.
