
The Isle of Man is to receive the 2012 European Community Sports Award.
Top officials from the European Capitals of Sport Association are visiting facilities on the Island today (Friday), including the National Sports Centre.
The organisation is recognised and funded by the European Parliament in Brussels.
Deputy President John Swanson from Scotland says the delegation has been very impressed by everything it has seen.
During a visit to Cronkbourne Cricket Club, he said the Island fully understood the important role sport played in a community:
