Top two show no mercy

The top two sides in Manx hockey thrashed their respective B teams on Saturday.

On the second weekend of the season, reigning champions Valkyrs A thrashed Valkyrs B 7-1, led by a Gareth Morris hat-trick and strikes from Greg Miller, Chris Thomas and Mark Moyer (two).

Charlie Griffiths scored the B side’s reply.

Meanwhile, Bacchas A defeated their B side 5-1, thanks to goals from Richard Le Page, Robin Perry, Kelly Shimmin, Andy Bridson and Jamie Brown with Dave Miller grabbing the Bacchas B consolation.

Ramsey had to settle for a point in a six goal thriller with Falcons, despite an Ollie Webster treble.

Andy Harding (two) and Kirsty Hunt were the Falcon’s goal-getters.

Phoenix A won the other Division One game, 4-2 against Celts.
