TT fans mourn Dave Wells

TT fans are mourning the loss of a popular sidecar competitor who died on Saturday during a race in the United Kingdom.

Dave Wells was killed during an incident at the sidecar festival at Mallory Park in Leicestershire where he was competing with longtime driving partner Roy Hanks.

Mr Wells, 61, from York first raced in the TT in 1988, and in 1991 he and Mick Boddice won both races.

He also racked up eight other podium finishes around the Mountain Course.

Officials at Mallory Park in Leicestershire say he was killed after his team's machine suffered mechanical failure.

Mr Hanks, of Birmingham, suffered minor injuries.
