Free practice due to start tonight on UK time
A host of stars of the Isle of Man TT Races will get their campaigns at the 2025 Macau Grand Prix underway tonight (12 November).
The 57th edition of the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix is scheduled to begin with free practice from around 11.45pm UK time this evening (7.45am on Thursday, 13 November local time).
Two Manx riders will be among the 20-strong field of competitors this year with Marcus Simpson and Michael Evans taking part in their second and third appearances at the meeting respectively.
Overall, all but one of the riders involved have present or previous experience of racing on the Snaefell Mountain Course.
Also among the entries are 2024 Senior TT champion, Davey Todd; 14-time TT winner and TT outright lap record holder, Peter Hickman as well as Michael Sweeney, Rob Hodson and David Johnson.
Elsewhere, 2025 TT newcomer, Mitch Rees is also entered and will become the first New Zealand rider to take part in the race since 2011.
Last year's race was cancelled due to poor weather conditions with trophies awarded to those who set the fastest qualifying times with Todd first, Erno Kostamo second and Hickman third.
After free practice, first qualifying for the motorcycle grand prix is then scheduled for 11.45pm UK time tomorrow (13 November) and 7.45am on Friday, 14 November local time.
The 12-lap race is then due to be held at 1.10am UK time on Saturday, 15 November (9.10am on Saturday, 15 November local time).
The schedule remains subject to change depending on prevailing conditions and circumstances.
