
The Manx women’s national hockey team fared well on the first day of the northern counties competition.
The team gained two wins out of three at the event in Liverpool.
After a goalless first half, the team secured a 3-0 victory over Durham in its opening game, courtesy of goals from Kirsty Bowley, Julie Chesterton and Katie Errock.
It was roles reversal in the second game as the Manx team went down 4-0 to a strong Cheshire team.
However, the Island ended the day on a winning note with a solitary Kim Carney goal sealing a win over Lancashire.
