Vagabonds B beat a young looking Southern Nomads team 34-5 to secure a place in next week’s Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy Final - against Nomads!
The southerners had already qualified for the final and Glen Buckley’s sixth minute try gave them an early lead in this game.
However, the much more experienced Vagabonds side were soon right back in it.
A try from Andy Pease levelled the scores.
Steve Gawne put Vagas in front and they built on that lead with Sam Liver, Ben Sharples and skipper Matt Rockwell all crossing for first half tries.
Trailing 27-5 at the break, Nomads looked unlikely to respond and indeed it was Vagas who closed out the game with the only score of the second half - a Luke Purdy try converted by Mark McGreal.
