A workmanlike Vagabonds side edged out Ramsey 12-6 in a dour BSM Manx Cup semi-final at a muddy Glencrutchery Road.
Vagas adjusted better to the soft conditions which really disrupted Ramsey’s running game.
Two first half penalties from Jonny Beckley gave them a 6-3 half-time lead, with Fintan Cummins pulling one back for Ramsey after Nick McCudden sliced through the Vagabonds midfield.
In the second half neither side looked likely to score a try and the tie came down to a kicking duel between Beckley and Cummins.
Beckley came out winner with a penalty and a drop goal which put Vagas 12-3 in front.
Cummins replied with a penalty of his own but crucially missed another two which would have made the game a little more interesting.
The other semi-final between Douglas and Southern Nomads was postponed with the pitches at Port-e-Chee and King Williams College both suffering from the recent weather.
