Manufacturer to be official vehicle safety partner for the races

The Isle of Man TT Races has announced a three-year partnership with BMW Motorrad as the event's official vehicle safety partner.

As part of the agreement the manufacturer will provide BMW S1000 RR machines to the TT's crew of travelling marshals.

Furthermore, two BMW M1000 RR's will be provided to the races' liaison officers and a fleet of X3 and X5 vehicles will be provided for medical response teams.

For marshals, a selection of BMW 530e saloons are being made available along with multiple M3 and M5 saloons for the TT safety personnel.

Head of Motorsport at the Department for Enterprise, Paul Phillips, says: "Safety is at the heart of everything we do at the TT, and having partners who can help us deliver on that commitment is crucial to the event's success.

"Our medical response team is continuously driving innovation to improve our safety standards, and having the best equipment available to them - and to all our officials and marshals -  is essential in allowing them to operate as effectively and safely as possible.

"We are looking forward to partnering with BMW, a brand that shares our values and vision for the future of the event."
