Women Today listen again: Autism, the importance of reading to children and upsetting avocados...

On Women Today this afternoon, Beth and Jenny were joined by Carole Williams who is a teacher specialising in autism.

It's a role partly funded by the Department of Education and Children and the charity Autism in Mann,  Carole goes and speaks to school pupils, teachers, the police, prison service and other organisations who wants to know more about autism and how best to develop strategies to help people flourish.

You can contact Carole by calling 07624 438672 or emailing c.williams@doe.sch.im

On today's show we also discussed with Carole the policy adopted by a university student union in Manchester to ban clapping, following on from comments sent to us after yesterday's chat.  We heard how a fast food chain is coming to the reading rescue, and discovered that Alexa is a Women Today listener.

And we spared a thought for poor old avocados which were the butt of an advertising blunder.
