Freedom of Information Act 2015

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2015 every person who is resident on the Isle of Man has a legally enforceable right to obtain access to information held by a public authority, subject to certain exemptions and practical refusal reasons.

Manx Radio is a publicly owned company and is defined as a public authority for the purpose of the Freedom of Information Act. However, as stated in Schedule 1, the Act has limited application (the Manx Radio Exemption) and only applies in respect of information held for purposes other than journalism, art or literature.
