Join Culture Vannin and friends for a ‘Manx Day Out’ in…LAXEY!
A FREE midsummer celebration of Manx language, music, dance and folklore.
See Manx language projects on display, join in with language and song workshops, bake some ‘bonnag’, join in with a bilingual walking tour and enjoy Manx dancing and musical performances.
The event will take place in various locations around Laxey, including the Village Square, Working Men’s Institute and Laxey Glen Pavilion.
Why not travel to Laxey on the tram and don’t forget to bring your Mannin Aboo Passport for visiting the local shops and cafes!

From the mines and trams, to Iron Age coast defences – a selection of some of Culture Vannin’s most interesting films about the Isle of Man’s history.

Manx Film Show: Creativity
Music, dance, song, art and more – a selection of films which will be the most inspiring and beautiful things you will ever see… probably.

Manx Film Show: Folklore
Fairies, saints, curses and more – a selection of favourite Manx folklore films made by one of the authors of ‘A Guide to the Folklore Sites of the Isle of Man.’
This event is supported by the Domestic Event Fund for Year of the Manx Language.
