Join Manx National Heritage's Curator of Archaeology, Allison Fox and Project Archivist, Gareth Pugh, for a fascinating insight on the reigns of the 2nd Duke and the 3rd Duke and Duchess of Atholl as the Lords of Mann, between 1736 and 1765.
Starting with a short talk by Curator of Archaeology, Allison Fox, discover a brief overview of Castle Rushen and the history of its buildings, putting the Atholl-era (1736 to 1830) into context.
Our Project Archivist, Gareth Pugh, will then talk about the the reigns of the 2nd Duke and the 3rd Duke and Duchess of Atholl as the Lords of Mann, between 1736 and 1765 and some of the interesting finds he has discovered during his research.
Please note this talk will take place in Castle Rushen Courtroom.
The Courtroom is accessed by a set of stairs, there is currently no lift access to this room.
