Ivan Soulsbury Coast to Coast returns on 6 September in support of Sight Matters

The Ivan Soulsbury Coast to Coast returns on Sunday, 6 September, raising vital funds for local charity Sight Matters and bringing together participants of all ages and abilities for one of the Isle of Man’s much-loved community events.

Sponsored for the fourth consecutive year by Conister Bank, the event offers participants the opportunity to take on the full Coast to Coast challenge from Douglas to Peel, or a shorter route from St John’s to Peel.

The main event starts at 1.30pm from the National Sports Centre (NSC) in Douglas, with participants finishing at the House of Manannan in Peel. The shorter event begins at 3.30pm in St John’s, also finishing in Peel.

Conister Bank’s continued support reflects its commitment to building long-term partnerships with local charities and organisations that make a positive difference in the community.

Kerry Waddington of Conister Bank said the bank was proud to support the event for a fourth year.

“We believe in building lasting partnerships with charities such as Sight Matters,” she said. “It aligns very closely with what we want to achieve in the community, and we enjoy taking part too, so it’s a double win.”

The bank’s support goes beyond sponsorship, with staff also taking part in Sight Matters activities and workshops throughout the year. Conister Bank says its aim is not simply to place its logo on an event, but to become genuinely involved and see the impact of its support over time.

Andy Bass added that the growth of the Coast to Coast event, both in participation and awareness, had been particularly rewarding to see.

The event relies heavily on volunteers, with marshals, water-station teams and other volunteers helping to ensure the day runs safely and smoothly. Participants are also encouraged to raise additional sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues.

Registration costs £15 for adults and £5 for children under 16, providing an accessible way to take on a challenge while supporting a local charity.

Sight Matters and Conister Bank are encouraging people to get involved, whether by taking part, volunteering or supporting participants through sponsorship.

The Ivan Soulsbury Coast to Coast takes place on Sunday, 6 September, with the main event starting at 1.30pm from the NSC and the shorter St John’s-to-Peel event starting at 3.30pm.
