Emily is in the Netherlands learning about other bodies practices
A member of Douglas RNLI says while there are some differences between the organisation here and other lifeboat bodies around Europe, there are also lots of similarities.
Volunteer Emily Heaton is in the Netherlands completing a week-long lifeboat crew exchange programme.
She hopes to learn about their search and rescue practices and training methods, amongst others.
She told Manx Radio it's been an interesting week finding out about the experiences of other RNLI colleagues and she can't wait to share it with members here:
Island's bathing waters meet highest European standards
Final dip for Kirk Michael fundraiser
Breeders 'proud' to send puppies for police training
