£100 million fund will help build a ‘platform for recovery’

Money for higher education and Manx Restart Scheme

A £100 million Economic Recovery Fund will help build a ‘platform for recovery’ after Covid-19.

That was the message from the treasury yesterday as the Budget for the next financial year was approved.

£1.75 million has been approved for the Manx Restart Scheme which aims to reduce unemployment.

£3 million is also being pushed into encouraging more people to take up higher education.

Minister Alfred Cannan says as a nation the Isle of Man should take confidence from the fact it has been able to ‘withstand external challenges’ thanks to the resilience of the economy.
