New Year resurfacing could be done outside of business hours
Access to businesses in the vicinity of Victoria Street in Douglas will be maintained during 20 weeks of roadworks.
The Department of Infrastructure is starting work to replace the pedestrian crossing there today (3 October).
The DoI says liaison with businesses operating in the area has been carried out and they'll be able to operate as normal throughout.
CCJ Limited has been appointed as the main contractor for the scheme.
Final carriageway resurfacing will take place in the New Year which will require several road closures over a short period of time.
The DoI says it’s looking at the feasibility of doing this outside normal business hours.
