Contractors are again being reminded they must 'Dial Before they Dig'.
In follows an incident at the Balthane Industrial Estate, at 8am today, in which damage to an 11,000 volt main cable, caused by a 'third party', cut electricity supplies to nearby Ronaldsway Airport.
In a media release, the Manx Electricity Authority urges organisations and individuals to get in touch to find out where mains cables are located before starting excavation work.
The MEA makes the point that electricity is vital for the operation of an airport, although it adds that Ronaldsway does have a back-up facility.
