A new hotel in Ramsey could act as a catalyst for the town, according to lead member for finance with the town's commissioners, Richard Radcliffe.
The contract to build a 30-bedroom hotel with a 45-seat restaurant and bar on Mooragh Promenande, on the corner of Park Road and Premier Road, was put out to tender last month.
The Grand Island closed nearly two years ago, and Mr Radcliffe says a new hotel would be a major boon:
