App problems for IoM Bank

Customers will have to wait a little longer for an app from Isle of Man Bank – after its app couldn’t be downloaded in the Island.

This morning (Monday) on its Twitter feed, the bank revealed it had fallen foul of a settings issue on the Google Play store for Android phones.

The regional settings mean customers from the Island are denied the app because they’re not in the UK.

A similar problem’s plagued many Manx apps for Android, including the official TT app and the Department of Infrastructure’s 'report a problem' app launched last year.

Last month, Isle of Man Bank put back the launch of its Android app after releasing a version for iPhones some time ago.

But this morning, customer George Griffiths reported he couldn’t install the app because it told him it was unavailable in his country.

On its Twitter feed, the company apologised and said Google Play is working on a settings issue.

It promised the app will be fixed soon. The issue doesn’t affect Apple phones.
