Offshore legal services provider Appleby has announced the appointment of Kyle Sutherland to the position of senior associate in the Corporate and Commercial team in the Isle of Man, effective from August 2, 2010.
Kyle, a British Virgin Islands and Manx-qualified corporate lawyer, has spent the last three years working as a senior associate in the offices of BVI law firm Harneys.
He was lead lawyer on a number of high profile transactions, specialising in a broad range of corporate and commercial disciplines, including joint venture work, restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, asset finance transactions and private placement and listings.
The appointment follows the recent call to the British Virgin Islands Bar of Appleby partners Nick Verardi and John Melia and will enable Appleby’s Isle of Man office to offer a BVI-qualified legal team in a GMT time zone.
Kyle returns to the firm where he trained and qualified as a Manx advocate seven years ago, under its former name of Dickinson, Cruickshank & Co.
