Local law firm Appleby has unveiled the Isle of Man's first ever foundation.
The Department of Economic Development says the Appleby Charitable Foundation is the first foundation to be approved and established under new laws which came into effect on January 1.
Foundations are similar to trusts but have some features more often seen in companies.
The Appleby Charitable Foundation takes over from the Appleby Fund for the Community, a charitable scheme which issues donations across a range of local charities and good causes.
