Chief Minister quells doubt over ownership of utility firm
Chief Minister Allan Bell says the situation at Manx Gas, whose parent firm has been taken over, is totally different to the Steam Packet Company.
Onchan MHK Peter Karran made the comparison this morning during Tynwald questions when he asked Mr Bell about the takeover of Manx Gas parent firm International Energy Group.
Mr Bell said Brookfield Energy Partners, which has taken over IEG, would not load the company down with debt after the deal.
He told Mr Karran Brookfield is a reputable company in the energy industry:
