Castletown company fined £2,100 for tax offences

Twelve breaches from Smileys People Limited

A Castletown company has been fined £2,100 after 12 offences relating to Income Tax payments, and National Insurance contributions.

Smileys People Limited, of Malew Street, was also ordered to pay £125 in costs.

UK Encloscylopedia Limited of Marathon Avenue in Douglas was fined almost £1,400 after six breaches of its own.

The details were released after proceedings at Douglas Magistrates Court.

Three other companies were hit with charges, with 12 individuals also fined as much as £640 for failing to submit personal income tax returns at the correct time.

Elsewhere, two residents and 11 companies were fined for failing to comply with a notice to submit accounts in support of their tax returns.
