Pulrose Power Station is getting a service, after the equivalent of 1.2 million miles of use!
The CCGT Power Plant is having its 20,000 hours inspection by engineers, which the Manx Electricity Authority says is equivalent to a car going to the moon and back 50 times.
As part of a planned outage, maintenance crews had to wait two days while the steam turbine cooled sufficiently to enter.
The MEA says while the Pulrose site is offline, the Island’s electricity will be supplied via a single gas turbine and the subsea cable.
