Three year contract for charity

Nurturing potential is the focus of a new deal between the Manx government and the Children's Centre.

The Community Employability Programme (CEP) is a three-year contract aimed at helping unemployed people get back into employment or education.

It will see the long-established Manx charity providing a range of tutoring, training and mentoring options to job seekers of all ages, as well as coaching in areas such as CV writing and interview techniques.

The Children's Centre has previously worked in partnership with the Job Centre and Benefits Office, helping almost 50 people back to work last year.

But the new deal now means it will oversee the initiative.

Bosses say they're hoping to build more new partnerships as the CEP progresses.
