Isle of Man law firm Dickinson Cruickshank has upgraded its information technology and invested in over 40 blackberrys for their lawyers.
After participating in a trial earlier in the year, the firm realised the benefits the technology could provide to clients and improve ways of working, by being more accessible while out of the office.
The new technology allows users to have remote access to their emails 24 hours a day, allowing them to read, create, reply and view attachments.
It allows the lawyers, fiduciary specialists and certain support staff to be accessible from locations all around the world and different time zones, enabling them to respond to clients out of hours when appropriate.
Senior partner, Paul Morris, commented: 'The upgrade in technology and expansion of our operations locally will allow Dickinson Cruickshank to be able to provide an enhanced level of service to our clients.
'Our growing staff numbers and greater accessibility is a proactive approach to providing our services to organisations and individuals in different time zones and with different needs on a daily basis.
'Clients now expect that their lawyers be contactable after or before ordinary working hours and we are happy to embrace this new era.'
