DQ expands as law firms merge

Two Island law firms - one boutique the other full service - are to become one in a merger aimed at providing synergies for both.

Kerruish Law and Trust is to become part of Dougherty Quinn from 1 June, with KLT's managing director Paul Kerruish appointed as director and shareholder. He'll join DQ's trust and private client department under Annemarie Hughes and head-up the firm's commercial property arm.

The rest of the KLT team will remain at International House pending relocation to Doughtery Quinn's enlarged premises in Mount Pleasant, Douglas.

DQ director Tom Maher described Paul Kerruish as a 'well renowned' private client and commercial lawyer, ranked among the Island's best by Chambers and Legal 500.

Paul Kerruish said he's delighted to integrate the business of KLT with DQ, a firm he says has an 'outstanding' reputation able to provide his clients with a fuller range of business services.

KLT specialises in high net worth individual private client, corporate and commercial property work, while DQ is a full service law firm advising on Isle of Man and BVI law. As a member of global law network SCG Legal, it can call on the expertise of 11,500 lawyers around the world.
